Chou is an imaginative table light whose design was inspired by the 1960 film ‘The World of Susie Wong’. Designed by Clara del Portillo and Alex Selma of Yonoh, Chou conjures up the magic of East Asia. Chou’s design is similar to the simple chouchin, a traditional Japanese paper lantern (that originated in China): in place of paper, Chou explores the folding and overlapping of wood veneer. This intriguing light reimagines the paper lantern for contemporary living.
Chou Short is ideally suited to a table or shelf. This versatile lamp incorporates a handle that is both practical and decorative. A captivating lamp in its own right, the Chou Short also pairs beautifully with the larger Chou Tall.
The Chou Short is available in the following wood veneers: Natural Cherry, Ivory White, Natural Beech, Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue, Grey, Pale Rose, and Sea Blue. The handle and base are black metal.
